Design Festa: May 2011

The 33rd Design Festa has just passed and once again, provided more candy then the eye could ever take. Never before have I seen so much talent, originality and passion all packed into one building. This international art event takes place in the iconic Tokyo Big Sight building situated in Odaiba, where it’s held twice a year. Although I have now attended three times, I still find wacky, weird and wonderful creations from people just like you and me.

Something I would like to do next time later this year would be to hang out at the live stage more and see what bands are on offer. Entrance fees are 1000 yen (£7) and is well worth the time and money! The doors open for the entire weekend so that means you can see different creations each day if you crave a double dose!

Tokyo Big Sight a.k.a The upside down pyramids

God only knows where the artist got his inspirations from…

For 1000 yen, you could dip your hand in and pull out a random prize!

So wrong yet so right

I want this printed on my T-shirt!

So clever haha!

Wrestling Pandas. Need I say more?

    Awesome stuff!

I’ll make sure I go to one when I come over. People that believe the Japanese aren’t creative past anime are so wrong!
