Special effects genius Freddie Wong has recreated the infamous ‘World 1-1′ from the original Super Mario game in full 3D! Not only that, but he gave it a first-person shooter twist. The results are fascinating.
I really like how what we see in 3D is in sync with the 2D image in the upper left corner. The most difficult part must have been the countless playthroughs of the game to get exactly what they wanted. Apparently, it took sixty hours to render the finished video, so you can imagine how much time and effort has gone into this. The three programs used for this project were 3dsMax, FumeFX and After Effects.
